E-ghosts

 Before the Coalescing took place, and merged many an alternate reality together, virtual reality was a major aspect of daily life in your baseline reality. Nearly every household had some brand of Virt-Mask or HoloPod. Besides using these devices to enjoy an escapism that transcends our base senses, the technology played a major roll in the life of the Cubicle Heroes. Cubicle Heroes were the titles of the human workers who constituted the massive communication networks and technical support of the Corps. A popular way to perform this job was called E-commuting. Cubicle Heroes who used a HoloPod to project an E-Form of themselves into the Mega Offices were called E-Commuters, or E-Coms. An E-form is a perfect digital recreation of the user in a HoloPod, and is projected into real space through entangling specific reacurring quantum positions of atoms in pure air, making the atoms glow a soft green in the exact shape of the HoloPod user.
